Police hunting for man, 26, caught defiling niece

Police in Embu North have launched a search for a 26-year-old man from Manyatta, who was caught defiling his 6-year-old niece on Monday, March 5.

According to Embu North OCPD, Mark Wanjala, the suspect, identified as John, was nabbed in the act by the victim’s grandmother, who raised an alarm, consequently attracting neighbours’ attention.

The suspect, nonetheless, managed to escape from the scene after he was busted.

Mr Wanjala says the victim was rushed to an Embu hospital for emergency treatment.

In another alleged rape incident in Kathagariri Village in Embu, a 29-year-old man, David Murimi Njiru, was arrested Monday after he allegedly defiled a 17-year-old girl.

Embu North OCPD Mark Wanjala said the suspect waylaid the minor and raped her in a thicket, when she was heading home from school.

Njiru was arrested after his victim’s distress calls attracted neighbours’ attention.
