Deputy President William Ruto has presented his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) progress report to his supervisor Professor Jenesio Kinyamario of Nairobi University.
The DP has been pursuing his third degree in Environmental Science at the prestigious university – and his thesis report on the impact of human activities on riparian reserves at Saiwa Swamp, Trans Nzoia County was also presented to the director, School of Biological Sciences University of Nairobi Professor Paul Ndegwa.
DP Ruto took to his social media pages Tuesday, June 14 to share the good news.
“Presenting my Ph.D. progress report at the @uonbi on the impact of human activities on riparian reserves,” he tweeted, accompanying the post with photos that show him explaining his thesis report to the two-member panel.
Ruto was born on December 21, 1966 in Kamagut, Uasin Gishu County to Daniel Cheruiyot and Sarah Cheruiyot.
He attended Kerotet Primary School for his primary school education then joined Wareng Secondary School for his Ordinary Levels education before proceeding to Kapsabet Boys, Nandi for his Advanced Levels.
He then went on to receive a BSc (Botany and Zoology) from the University of Nairobi, graduating in 1990. He was also a member of Christian Union where he served as Chairman. He was ranked the best student in his class.
He later enrolled for MSc in Environmental Science, graduating in 2011.
