Five people were on Friday evening (May 19) arrested by police at Donyo Sabuk Funeral Home, where they had gone to view the body of murdered Churo/Amayo Member of County Assembly (MCA), Thomas Minito.
The five were whisked away to Donyo Sabuk Police Station in a police van moments after an altercation ensued between them and Tiaty Member of Parliament (MP), Asman Kamama, who had arrived at the funeral home earlier.
Kamama accused the five, who arrived at the morgue a few minutes after he had viewed the body, of having sinister motives following their visit to the mortuary.
The body of the missing Churo /Amaya MCA, Thomas Minito, was on Thursday (May 18) 4pm discovered under Athi River Bridge by school-going children.
The residents said they heard pupils screaming while crossing the bridge from school; and upon checking, they saw a man’s body lying on a stone beneath the bridge.
Kamama condemned the brutal murder of the MCA, terming it a hi-tech extra-judicial execution by people who are properly trained; believing they were either police officers or some hit squad operating between Nairobi and counties in Rift Valley.
Kamama called on Interior Cabinet Secretary, Joseph Nkaissery, Inspector General of Police, Isaac Boinnet, and the Director of Criminal Investigations, NIS officers and IPOA to investigate the incident.
