In a separate incident from the same river system, another pastor has perished while performing a ”water miracle”. Pastor John Mwila of the New Apostolic Church of Zambia led 15 followers to the Luangwa River on Easter Monday. He claimed that a voice from heaven had given him power over crocodiles. Video recorded by a church member (now evidence) shows Mwila wading in while chanting. Within seconds, he disappeared under the surface. Two crocodiles were later seen fighting over a limb. The National Police spokesman has warned all religious leaders: ”Stop these deadly stunts. Walking on water is not a thing – use a bridge.” The church has excommunicated the pastor posthumously, calling his actions ”heretical and reckless.”
