Opposition leader Raila Odinga on Friday morning left the country for South Africa to visit his ailing daughter, Rosemary Odinga.
“Mr. Odinga left the country shortly after 7 am today, March 10, 2017 on a Kenya Airways flight to Johannesburg,” said Odinga’s spokesperson, Dennis Onyango.
Rosemary Odinga, the elder daughter of Raila Odinga, was on February 28 flown to South Africa for further check up after 11 days of hospitalisation at a Nairobi hospital.
Rosemary Odinga has a brain tumor, which is non-cancerous. She is recuperating well.
“Odinga will be out of the country for slightly over a week,” added Mr Onyango.
The Opposition chief will, over the weekend, travel to the United States from South Africa “for a number of engagements”, said Onyango.
