The National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga has contributed Ksh100, 000 to offset a medical bill of two NASA supporters, who were allegedly shot by police in Migori County during the recent spate of anti-IEBC protests.

The two NASA supporters were being held at the St. Joseph’s Omboo Mission Hospital over a collective unpaid medical bill of Ksh35, 150 after undergoing emergency treatment at the health facility.

Odinga sent the money via mobile to Migori County ODM Party Chairman Philip Makabongo on Friday.

Makabongo had, on Thursday, made a special appeal to members of his ODM Party to raise money to bail out the detained NASA supporters.

“Odinga was the first person to send his contribution of Ksh100, 000,” said Makabongo.

Makabongo said the extra money will be used to take the two for advanced treatment at Tenwek Hospital as recommended by Omboo Hospital doctors.

The Migori County ODM Party Chairman said bullets are still lodged in the bodies of the two NASA supporters, and that they (bullets) are set to be removed at Tenwek Hospital.

Shadrack Otieno has four bullets lodged in his body, while Michael Ochieng has one bullet lodged in his knee.
