Popular Kenyan Taarab singer Mwanaisha Abdala, known to many by her moniker Nyota Ndogo, has revealed what caused their feud with the Monalisa hit-maker, Colonel Mustapha in 2015.
Nyota Ndogo, a guest at Amina Abdi’s Alfajiri Show on K24 TV, opened up on their alleged prolonged beef with Mustapha – saying that the rapper disrespected her as a woman.
“I can’t say much about Mustapha for he has since learned from his mistakes. I was defending myself as a woman whom he disrespected,” Nyota Ndogo told Alfajiri host Amina Abdi.
Pressed futher, the viatu vibebe hit-maker, revealed what led to their social media drama – calling Mustapha by unpalatable names.
She stated in the breakfast show that Mustapha had no respect for women – referring to his song shigida – using revealing video shots.
Further, the Taarab singer alleged that the rapper was encouraging young musicians to use drugs.
“I was trying to pass the message that women should be respected; and Mustapha was spoiling the name of fellow musicians that we use drugs to make music. That is not how talent should be,” she stated, adding: “If Mustapha was a model, then I would have no problem with his video.”
Nyota Ndogo, who has been in a hiatus in music, said she took a break from music but she has been performing.
She added that she is finally back and is set to release a video to her new song, Kusubiri.
