Illicit brew makers in Nyahururu, Laikipia County have devised new methods of hiding liquor as hawk-eyed security agencies continue to fish them out.

The grog makers now hide illicit brew on tree branches, holes dug underneath bed and fire-cooking places and within forests.

In a Thursday, May 18 crackdown on illicit brew that took place in Kirima village, Nyahururu Sub County deputy Administration Police Commander Ambrose Karugu, Kiamaina location chief Joseph Waithaka and his Mutitu counterpart Senior Chief Eston Maina found liquor hidden under a bed in an isolated makeshift house.

In yet another operation within Nyahururu division, officers confiscated illicit alcohol containers that were hidden atop a tree down the valleys.

Suspects behind the illicit brew manufacturing managed to escape the police dragnet.

Security officers maintain they will stay on course in their pursuit of illegal brew makers, promising to apprehend the suspects and arraign them before court.
