President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday, September 13 unveiled new police uniform for the General Duty officers.
In the new changes, the President said the Persian-blue shirt/blouse, trousers and beret are for better “visibility”.
“It’s important for everybody and especially the police officers to know that the Kenyan people are funding these changes so that the police can serve the people better,” said President Kenyatta, who presided over the launch of a policy framework and strategy for reorganising the National Police Service at the Kenya School of Government Thursday.
A section of online users took to Facebook and Twitter to criticise the government on the choice of colour and design of the police uniform, with a significant number of social media users saying the previous police uniform was by far better-looking.
