Karen Nyamu, a Nairobi Woman Representative hopeful, has come out to denounce a video showing a curvy woman, who resembles her, wiggling her backside suggestively while preparing a meal in the kitchen.
The video, which was first posted on an Instagram platform on April 14 by a user namely Supersexy Nana (handle: n_supersexy_), has since been shared extensively online, with most men, who happened to watch it, left admiring the woman’s delectable physique.
Karen Nyamu has now taken to her official Facebook page to distance herself from the controversial video, saying her political rivals are employing all possible ploys to malign her.
She wrote: “It has come to my attention that my opponents have found a video of a lookalike on the internet and decided to share it with the propaganda that it is me in the video. While I appreciate that it is injury time and all manner of tactics are getting employed to deal with competition, it will not work,” said Ms Nyamu.
The race for the Nairobi woman representative seat has attracted eight contestants. Karen Nyamu has expressed interest in unseating incumbent Woman Rep Rachel Shebesh on a Jubilee Party ticket.
Besides Karen Nyamu, Ms Shebesh will slug it out with Janet Muthoni Ouko, who has been in advocacy and politics since her university days, Millicent Omanga and Nominated MCA Wambui Ng’ang’a in the Jubilee nominations, which are slated for Monday, April 24.
One of them will battle it out with ODM’s Esther Passaris and Maendeleo Chap Chap’s Nadya Khan for the seat of Nairobi Woman Rep on August 8 general election.
