Police are investigating the mysterious death of a Narok woman, whose body was discovered in a lodging facility Monday morning (October 16).
The body of the woman, believed to be 30-years-old, was found abandoned at Kasablanka Bar and Lodge in Kandas Estate.
Kandas area residents suspect that the bar manager and security guard know who killed the woman.
“We want the bar manager and watchman to explain how the woman was killed, because she could not have accessed the room without their knowledge, and if she booked herself into the lodging facility accompanied by someone, let us know who that person is,” said Samuel Mbuthia, the deceased’s neighbour.
“I suspect she was poisoned, or strangled to death. I have known the woman since the days we were in school. She dropped out of school due to pregnancy. Sadly, her baby died. Her mother also died from an illness a few years later. Out of depression, she plunged into alcohol abuse. I don’t think her death is by natural causes. Somebody killed her,” said the deceased’s neighbour, Stephen Ouma.
Detectives arrived at the bar and collected forensic evidence outside and inside the room, where the woman was found dead before moving her body to Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary.
And still in Narok, Five thousand liters of illicit alcohol was destroyed in Majengo Estate in police crackdown on Monday afternoon.
A woman, notorious for brewing illicit liquor, and two other people, were nabbed in the crackdown, Narok North Deputy County Commissioner Ronald Mwiwawi said.
“They will be charged with this and previous similar offenses,” said Mwiwawi.
The deputy county commissioner said used condoms, women’s panties, among other unhygienic objects were found inside chang’aa drums.
