The burial ceremony of legendary musician Joseph Kamaru is set for Thursday morning at Kaharati, Murang’a County.
President Kenyatta has arrived for the funeral service at Muthithi Primary School.
He was received by Deputy President William Ruto.
Other leaders already at the venue include Opposition leader Raila Odinga, MPs Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu), Wangari Mwaniki (Kigumo), Mary Waithira (Maragua) and Eng Ngugi Ndwati (Gatanga).
Muranga Woman Rep Sabina Chege as well as former MPs Maina Kamanda, Peter Kenneth and William Kabogo are also present.
The Benga musician died on Wednesday, October 3 at MP Shah Hospital in Nairobi where he was receiving treatment.
Born in 1939 in Kangema, Murang’a County, Kamaru will be remembered for his songs on social, political and human rights issues.
