Gospel singer Mr Seed says he and renowned Man of God Bishop Allan Kiuna are doing the same job in winning souls to God.
Mr Seed, who was a guest on Citizen Extra Trends and Entertainment show on Friday, April 6, was responding to a question on whether the input of modern-day gospel singers in winning souls to God is effective. The question was centered around the lyrics, beats and video talents that modern-day musicians use in their messages, which a section of society claims is deviant from Biblical teachings.
Mr Seed now says his approach of preaching the Word of God and that of Bishop Allan Kiuna have a similar impact.
“Pastor Kiuna and I have no difference in ministry. He preaches to a congregation while on the pulpit; I preach to Christians through my music. People should not judge the crop of modern day gospel musicians,” said Mr Seed.
The ‘Neema Inatosha’ hit-maker also spoke about his proposal to girlfriend, Nimo Gachuiri.
In a past interview with eDaily, after proposing to Ms Gachuri on February 14, Mr Seed said he was confused during that exercise. Why was that the case?
“I had never proposed to a woman before. Until then, I was only seeing such stunts on TVs and movies. When I was at the venue of proposal (a Nairobi hotel), I was wondering what to do. I requested DJ Mo, who was present during my proposal, to guide me through the exercise; I enquired from him what to do, and he helped me. I did not even know which knee goes down first.
“Claims, which surfaced online that Nimo pressurised me into proposing, were not true. The claims got their genesis from a video Nimo shared in July, 2017, which showed her wearing a ring on her engagement finger when she was with me in the studio. She flossed the ring on camera, and that was when bloggers picked up the story claiming that Nimo was, actually, suggesting I marry her. Proposing to Nimo was something that I had planned even before the claims surfaced.
“I love Nimo because she supports me very much in my music; she directs me; she believes in me; she is honest; she is saved; she is a church girl. I knew her through a mutual friend.”
Last year, reports surfaced that Mr Seed and Nimo Gachuri’s relationship was on the verge of collapsing after Mr Seed was allegedly busted flirting with other women. What is his response?
“In September, 2017, Nimo and I were going through a difficult period in our relationship. We’d developed differences, which I am yet to know how that information got to the media. When the story was making the rounds on social media, people speculated a lot of things. I cannot reveal exactly what happened because my love life is personal.”
Mr Seed says once he and Nimo have settled on a wedding date, they will communicate that information.
“For now, let’s wait and see,” he said.
The gospel singer also opened about the misconception that people have about him.
“People judge me wrongly; they claim I am proud. I do not think that is the case; that’s a misconception about me,” he said.
