Morgan Heritage says missing Kisumu fish

Morgan Heritage, the highly acclaimed royal family of reggae, is in Kenya for the second time.

The family is scheduled to perform at the Extravaganza KE concert on Friday, October 3rd alongside several artists such as Avril and Wangechi from coke studio, Wyre, Kristoff, Timmy and Rapdamu.

The reggae group, which has recorded songs for at least two decades, at a press conference on Wednesday talked fondly about their second time in Kenya.

They intimated that they are looking forward to performing their latest album, strictly roots for the first time in Kenya.

The album has collabos with several artists including Bob Marley’s grandson, Jo Mersa Marley and Shaggy.

Morgan Heritage, asked about their favorite food in Kenya, were not shy in saying fish. Their most memorable moment while in Kenya was when they ate fish at Lake Victoria, Kisumu.

The group got excited after being served with a huge fish at the lakeside city.

Gramps Morgan said that he seasoned the fish Jamaican style but realized that a lot of Kenyan cuisines are similar to those back home. He said that he loves fish and is looking forward to eating more of it in Kenya.

The reggae music group will be dining at Kosewe and Java from Thursday before heading to the County Government of Nairobi headquarters to sign the guest book.

Gramps added that they have begun their own food culture called Morgan’s Farm. This will be their platform to share the Caribbean cuisine with their fans and various food bloggers who they will teach how to cook several dishes including jerk chicken.

Jerk is a style of cooking native to Jamaica in which meat is dry-rubbed or wet marinated with a very hot spice mixture called Jamaican jerk spice.

The sister, who they refer to as ‘the queen’ of the tight knit family, has not returned to Kenya with them as she is back home taking her child to school and handling other family issues.

The family has also, for the first time, was accompanied by Gramp’s Morgan’s son, Jemere Morgan who also has a career in music but is in University currently playing American football.

Jemere is enlivened about being in Africa, specifically Kenya.

He talked about his plan to pass the message that is featured in their latest album about being conscious.

He is looking forward to engage with the youth about having fun, staying young but with moderation and values.

They have a mobile application, which allows them to interact with all their fans personally and share their discographies and projects.

The app is simply called Morgan Heritage for both Android and iOS and is absolutely free.
