Model uses nude photos to raise Ksh.50M for Australia wildfire relief

An American Instagram model has reportedly helped raised over $500,000 (Ksh.50 million) geared towards the Australia wildfire relief using her nude photos.

20-year-old Kaylen Ward from Los Angeles has sent one nude photo to at least 50,000 people for every $10 (Ksh.1,000) donated towards any of the numerous charitable funds such as the Australian Red Cross, Koalas in Care and the Australian Lions Foundation.

The model, now dubbed ‘The Naked Philanthropist’, had only about 30,000 Twitter followers when she first posted the offer but had risen to over 400,000 followers as at the time of publishing.

Three of her accounts have since however been shut down by Instagram for violating their sexually suggestive content guidelines.

“It’s so surreal and didn’t feel like this could be happening. I’m so happy because it’s really personal to me, and I wanted to see people making a difference,” Ward told The Washington Post.

The Australian wildfires began in September last year and at least 24 people have died in what the government referred to as an “unprecedented crisis.”
