Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo revealed in Parliament Thursday, November 22 that her favourite underwear brand is Victoria’s Secret.
The MP made that remark, when she recounted the December 18, 2014 chaos which rocked Parliament during debate on the contentious security laws. Ms Odhiambo – at the time –, accused Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria of punching and undressing her.
Millie, on Thursday, November 22, urged the National Assembly members to commit to restoring the dignity of the House in the wake of increasing claims that it is losing its pride due to unruly MPs’ behaviour.
Millie’s statements were made when the House was revisiting the October 2017 incident, in which Embakasi East lawmaker Babu Owino and his Starehe counterpart Charles Kanyi, alias Jaguar, engaged in physical fight.
“Every other time, people tend to think that chaos would rock Parliament, when MPs differ. Some people even say Millie Odhiambo will throw her thong. For your information, I do not wear thongs, I only wear Victoria’s Secret. And, no amount of sexual intimidation can put me down. Let the MPs acknowledge that a wrong was done to me,” said Ms Odhiambo.
The National Assembly Deputy Speaker, Moses Cheboi, ordered MPs Babu Owino and Charles Kanyi to formally – and in writing –, apologise over the October 2017 fight.
The two lawmakers obliged, and the National Assembly proceeded with other House businesses, including the Second Reading of Parliamentary Service Bill No. 6 of 2018.
