MCAs stop proceedings to rant about colleague’s difficult English words

Ward representatives in Uasin Gishu County disrupted Assembly proceedings on Thursday afternoon to complain against their colleague’s choice of difficult English words when addressing them.

Nominated MCA Jenny Too’s speech was cut short by her colleagues in the County Assembly, who accused her of engaging in monologue since “many of them did not understand what she was saying”.

Kipkenyo ward representative Hillary Rono gathered courage and interrupted Ms Too during her speech to tell her that he and his other colleagues were finding it hard to understand her abstruse speech.

“Your choice of words has left many of us ‘floating’. The speech is very complex. Kindly tone down to so that you may have us on board,” Mr Rono told Ms Too.

Uasin Gishu County Assembly speaker had to intervene to make the “difficult” session bearable.
