MC Jessy reveals details being a ‘pastor’

Celebrated Kenyan entertainer, Jasper Muthomi, popularly known as MC Jessy says he was ordained as a ‘pastor’ before joining comedy.

Sharing his early life experience on Citizen TV’s Power Breakfast show, the comic revealed joining Winners Chapel church as a way to end his troubles.

“I graduated from Word of Faith Bible Institute (WOFBI) at Winners Chapel as a pastor,” he revealed.

Pressed further on his experience as a clergyman, Jessy opened up on being mentored by a friend, pastor David Adiwe – who was then a minister at the Winners Chapel church before he later opted to start the Transformers Chapel Ministries.

“My mentor pastor is the senior pastor of Transformers Chapel. He left Winners Chapel to form Transformers Ministries and has been my spiritual father since I came to Nairobi.”

The funny man revealed that Adiwe made him discover more of the commercial aspect of comedy.

“I used to joke a lot in church. I discovered Winners Chapel when I heard negative things about it including not being broke when you are a member. So I went there to end my troubles.”

The comic says the church was just normal save from the stereotype people had on Nigeria films- dark magic-as the main speaker of the church was from the West African country.
