Mavado’s son is battling for his life after he was shot and wounded last Friday in Kingston.
Mavado’s teenage son had allegedly fallen out with his crony over the role of Mavado in society, consequently causing a scuffle between the buddies.
The dancehall artiste’s son was thus shot on undisclosed body part in the Cassava Piece, St. Andrew incident.
A source told Jamaica’s Urban Islandz that the son’s spirited defense of his father got him in trouble with the friend.
“He was simply defending his father’s contribution to Cassava Piece and these other youths are acting like Vado never do anything for the community,” said the source.
Investigations have since been launched into the July 8 incident.
“What we are able to say is that the police have information that he (Mavado’s son) received a gunshot wound and they were able to verify. They have not received an official report from him as he is undergoing treatment, so as soon as he is able to speak to us. However, we are investigating the matter,” Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay, who heads the Constabulary Communication Unit (CCU), said as quoted by Urban Islandz.
No arrest has been made yet.
Following the incident, Mavado took to Instagram on Monday to show his devotion and appreciation to his teenage offspring for openly displaying love for the blockbuster dancehall artiste.
Mavado uploaded a photo of him and his son at their mansion on social media, and captioned it: “Loving You Son.”
Fans quickly flooded the Hope And Pray hit-maker’s timeline to wish the singer’s son a speedy recovery.
