A somber mood has engulfed a family from Shikhambi Village in Kakamega County after a man, 30, allegedly killed his step-sister, 36, for “refusing to get married.”
The suspect, Emmanuel Akuku, had been bugging her step-sister, incessantly, to get a husband so that he benefits from her bride price.
The suspect was heard by neighbours complaining that his step-sister had given birth to three children while still being housed by her parents.
The neighbours claim Akuku stoned his step-sister to death before dumping her body in River Mulakha following a quarrel that ensued between them Friday morning.
Confirming the incident Kakamega OCPD Tito Kilonzi said police are in pursuit of Akuku, who remains at large.
