A 45-year-old man died after hanging himself inside the cells of Kangundo Police Station Wednesday morning.
Thomas Nzioka, who was arrested for allegedly murdering his wife Anastacia Mueni last week, was slated to appear in the Kangundo Law Courts Wednesday, November 16, after police requested for seven days to conduct investigations.
Kangundo OCS, Maurice Okul, said Nzioka’s body was found by fellow inmates hanging from a bed sheet tied to the roof girders after he failed to show up for a morning roll call.
Nzioka’s body was taken to Kangundo Level 5 Hospital mortuary, where his wife’s body is being preserved.
Plans were underway to bury Mueni, who was fatally stabbed by Nzioka.
Nzioka and Mueni are survived by five children.
