Police in Migori have launched an investigation into the murder of a middle-aged man, who was hacked to death by unknown assailants at Sangla Village in Suna West Sub-County Friday evening.
The deceased, identified as Robert, is reported to have been in the company of two men at a trading center in Migori, when unknown people, drove toward them in a vehicle with no registration plate, and began hacking Robert.
According to Nyabisawa Location chief, Joseph Aliwa, the unknown assailants, after hacking Robert severally, dragged him into the car and sped off, leaving the other two unscathed.
Mr Aliwa said the assailants dumped Robert, who had already died due to profuse bleeding, at the home of a politician eyeing ward representative seat in Migori.
Suna West Deputy County Commissioner, Yusuf Huka, confirmed the incident, saying that the motive of the killing is yet to be established.
Mr Huka said the police have not made any arrests; and they are still pursuing the unknown assailants, who escaped to unknown destination after committing the heinous act.
