A middle-aged woman was admitted at the Nakuru Level 5 Hospital after her husband attacked her with a panga early Monday.
Loise Wanjiku of Kahuho Village in Bahati Constituency, Nakuru County, was attacked by her husband after she caught him in the act with another woman.
Ms Wanjiku had separated with her husband three months ago after a protracted domestic row ensued between them.
Ms Wanjiku, a mother of five, received a call from her husband, identified as John Gichere, Monday inviting her to his house, a request she agreed to thinking her husband was unwell.
The victim alleges that her husband had a deliberate intention of hurting her since he knew he had another woman in the house.
She says upon reaching home, she found the suspect and a woman in the act.
After a brief conversation with the suspect, the victim walked away. However before she could reach far, her husband allegedly attacked her with a machete, inflicting deep wounds on her head and legs.
The victim screamed, attracting neighbours who came to her rescue. The suspect, however, managed to escape to an unknown destination.
The victim was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
Confirming the incident on phone Chania Sub Location Chief, Daniel Mwaniki, said they had recorded a statement with the police.
Mr Mwaniki says police have launched investigations.
