Police have launched an investigation into the death of a 50-year-old man, whose body was found dumped in a thicket in Rianjangi Location, Embu North Wednesday morning (August 23).
The deceased, Anthony Obadiah, had stab wounds in the chest, neck and left hand.
The reason for his killing is yet to be established, but neighbours suspect it was a case of a love triangle turned fatal.
Confirming the incident, Embu North police boss, Mark Wanjala, said condom wrappers, blood stains were discovered at the scene of murder.
Wanjala added that Obadiah had no clothes on, when his body was found at 7:30am.
Wanjala says there was an indication Obadiah struggled to free himself from his aggressors, but was overpowered.
The Embu North OCPD says they have launched an investigation to determine whether the cause of Obadiah’s killing was indeed a love triangle; and bring the 50-year-old man’s killers to book.
Lincoln Kithaka, a resident of Rianjangi Location, said Obadiah worked as a mason in the village.
Kithaka suspects Obadiah’s murder was an assassination since his killer(s) never stole anything from him as he had Ksh2, 400 when his body was discovered.
Kithaka said Obadiah’s Identity Card showed he hailed from Mufu Village in Kyeni Location.
Residents eulogized Obadiah as a jovial man, who went about his issues privately.
Obadiah’s body was taken to Embu Level Five Hospital mortuary.
