Nairobi businessman, Chris Okeyo Obure, splashed millions on his wife’s baby shower which was held at Nairobi’s Villa Rosa Kempinski on Saturday, November 14.
The invite-only event was attended by family, friends and top cream of the society.
The dress code for the shower was white and a touch of gold. Over 100 guests attended the glitzy ceremony.
Former radio host turned actress Eve De Souza was the MC at the event where DJ Protégé rocked the decks from 3:30pm.
The programme incorporated midwifery lessons and advice by renowned Citizen Television family and relationship advisor, Bi Msafwari.
Other notable figures were Yvonne Khamati, remembered for being the youngest Kenyan (25) to be appointed foreign ambassador (Somalia) by former president Mwai Kibaki.
Kendi Mwiti-Otieno, the wife of Nairobi wealthy businessman, Jared K. Otieno, who made headlines early this year by paying dowry in choppers in Meru, also attended the ceremony with her husband.
After a sumptuous dinner, the guests enjoyed an open bar boasting of a wide array of exotic drinks.
Chris Obure, who was accompanied by at least 10 men, made a special 15-minute appearance some time later into the ceremony.
He showered his wife with several gifts including; a Samsung S6 Edge Plus phone, a holiday trip to the Bahamas Islands and Ksh1 million.
After presentation of gifts, Obure and his men left the ceremony.
Chris is the man who blew the whistle on the blood gold scams in Nairobi before fleeing the country “in fear for his life” just days after talking to the police in 2010.
He fled to South Africa after exposing a network spanning East Africa.
