Man arrested for threatening to join Al Shabaab at KDF recruitment

A 24-year-old man was on Friday, September 30, arrested for threatening to join terror group Al Shabaab if he won’t qualify to join the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) after recruitment process ends in Erekenyo, Nyamira County.

Alex Maraga Nyambane, who hails from Nyamusi, was apprehended at the recruitment venue by one of the officers who was conducting the exercise.

Head of KDF recruitment exercise in Erekenyo Col. Victor Mburu confirmed the incident to eDaily.

Nyamira North OCPD Joseph Mutende has said they would investigate Nyambane and arraign him in court soon.

Mutende says Nyambane’s several attempts to join KDF in the past bore no fruits.
