A 27-year-old man from Homa Bay County killed himself on Thursday morning after he allegedly differed with his girlfriend.
The incident happened at the man’s house in Rabuor Masawa Village in Arujo Sub-Location.
Lucas Otieno Okeyo’s body was found hanging from a rope tied to the roof of his living room.
Okeyo had allegedly quarreled with his lover earlier at a drinking joint in Homa Bay Town.
Arujo senior assistant chief, Jackton Olielo, said the couple continued wrangling even after arriving home late Wednesday.
The cause of their tiff remains unknown.
Chief Olielo said Okeyo left his girlfriend sleeping in the bedroom as he [Okeyo] reached for a sisal rope, which he used to end his life in the living room at around 3am Thursday.
The administrator said Okeyo’s girlfriend woke up minutes later and found her partner had already killed himself.
The woman said she raised the alarm, attracting the attention of neighbours.
Okeyo’s lover was taken in for questioning by police attached to Homa Bay station.
The deceased was taken to Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue as investigations continue.
