Larry Madowo quits Nation Media Group

Popular NTV News Anchor Larry Madowo has quit the media station.

Taking to Twitter to announce the news, Madowo said working at the station was one of the greatest honours of his life and that he was proud of all he had achieved, together with his colleagues.

“I leave @ntvkenya as I came: humbled & grateful. The job was one of the great honours of my life. Thanks to everyone who watched, and to Nation for the privilege of the opportunity. I’m proud of my amazing colleagues & everything we accomplished,” posted Madowo.

“Farewell, my friends. Stay woke,” added the former ‘The Trend’ and ‘Sidebar’ host.

Madowo’s troubles at the Aga Khan-owned media house began during Raila Odinga’s controversial January 30 ‘swearing in.’

The news of his departure comes in the wake of the resignation of 8 other columnists from the media house over “government interference.”

The columnists include Rasna Warah, Kwamchetsi Makokha, George Kegoro, Muthoni Wanyeki, Nic Cheeseman, Fr. Gabriel Dolan, Maina Kiai and Gabrielle Lynch.

It is still unclear as to where Madowo is headed.
