Former Genge singer and enthusiast turned gospel artiste Lady Bee has revealed she conceived at a tender age and lost the father of her baby when her daughter hadn’t joined Standard One.
In a lengthy Facebook post shared on her feed on July 26 Lady Bee, born Bernice Nduku, says she is grateful to God for seeing her through as a single parent as her daughter, Yvonne, is now a university student.
“I gave birth to my princess at a very young age, and those days if you fell pregnant and you were young, you could become the talk of town. Parents used to warn their children not to associate themselves with such girls and you risked becoming an outcast,” began Lady Bee.
“Every day I thank God for He has good plans for everyone. My life had nothing to do with my daughter’s. I thought about food, clothes, school fees; I was so anxious about everything. (I wondered) what would happen to our lives?
“But God provided in a very special way, the dad passed when she was about to join Class One, but I didn’t know that my God is the Father of the fatherless. Today my princess is at the university. Glory be to God.”
Using her testimony as reference, Lady Bee advised single mothers to have faith in God to provide at a time of hardship and hopelessness.
“You might be reading this and you feel like giving up because of many things around your life, your life is in a mess; nothing is making sense. God’s ways are so different from our ways, as long as you don’t lose hope, your testimony is coming. God is not a biased God. He will make a way for you too,” wrote Lady Bee.
