KMTC-Nyeri campus students go on strike

The Kenya Medical Training College students in Nyeri campus have gone on strike after their principal, Zipporah Njeru, was transferred.

The students marched to Nyeri Governor’s office to seek an audience with Mutahi Kahiga, but he was not around.

A legal adviser at Governor Kahiga’s office, however, told them the office will escalate their grievances to the chairman of the KMTC board and Health CS Sicily Kariuki.

The learners vowed they won’t return to class if their principal is not reinstated.

The students claim Ms Njeru, who has served as their principal for less than one year, developed the institution significantly.

The students further blocked lecturers from accessing the classrooms.
