BY ALLAN JAMES OBIERO IN KISUMU COUNTY.
Police in Kisumu are looking for a middle-aged man, who fatally stabbed his wife’s lover in the wee hours of Thursday.
The suspect, a bodaboda operator, identified only as Jagem, caught his wife and her lover engaging in sexual intercourse on his [Jagem’s] matrimonial bed at Bandani Estate in Kisumu.
Jagem had, for long, been suspecting that his wife was unfaithful, and on Thursday, he set a trap.
He left home for work a few minutes to 4am – as usual –, telling his wife that he would be back for breakfast much later in the morning.
Convinced that her husband wasn’t going to return anytime soon, Jagem’s wife invited her lover for intimacy.
Acting on a tip-off from a neighbour, Jagem returned home minutes later to find his wife having sex with her lover.
“Both Jagem’s wife and her lover were naked in bed, when Jagem caught them. A tragic fight between the men ensued thereafter,” said Kisumu East chief, Alloyce Aboge.
Mr Aboge said the suspect, while writhing in anger, reached for a kitchen knife and stabbed his love rival in the abdomen several times.
The victim attempted to run from the scene while bleeding profusely, but fell down and died not so far from Jagem’s home.
Jagem’s wife, however, managed to flee from the scene unscathed. Her whereabouts remain unknown.
The body of Jagem’s love rival was moved to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching Referral Hospital mortuary.
