BY KIMUTAI KERING IN KERICHO COUNTY.
A middle-aged woman from Kericho County was on Tuesday afternoon arrested after battering her husband following a domestic row.
The incident happened at Brooke Trading Center in the outskirts of Kericho Town.
According to sources, who spoke to EDAILY at the scene, the woman, who is a mother of three, fled her matrimonial home a few days ago following incessant differences with her husband.
On Tuesday, the woman’s husband was informed that his wife had been spotted having drinks at a bar in Brooke Trading Center.
Following the tip-off, the man went to look for his partner.
The man was shocked to find his wife sandwiched between male revelers at the entertainment joint.
He, consequently, approached and dragged her out of the bar.
While outside the entertainment spot, the couple started hurling verbal abuses at each other, with each faction laying bare the other’s marital weaknesses.
Feeling ego-bruised, the man grabbed his wife by the neck and started kicking and punching her.
The woman, however, managed to wrestle her husband back before overpowering him.
The woman, thereafter, rained heavy blows on her husband.
Certain that she had completely dominated him, the woman sat on her husband’s face; and, thereafter, stood on his body as onlookers watched in confusion.
When the onlookers saw that she was “getting too much”, they rescued the man from the grip of his wife.
The woman was frog-marched to Brooke Police Station, where she is being held.
The victim sustained injuries to different parts of his body.
He was heard cursing his wife.
According to sources, the suspect had rented a house at the trading centre after deserting her matrimonial home.
It remains unclear the charges authorities would press against her.
