Two national rugby Kenya Lionesses players have been embroiled in a lesbian love triangle that ended in one assaulting another woman she accused of preying on her partner.
The incident allegedly occurred on Thursday night after one of the players who features for KCB Rugby Football Club confronted another lady in her house in Kasarani estate, in the outskirts and proceeded to clobber her senseless claiming the victim was a ‘wife snatcher.’
The attacker has been in a relationship with her Kenya Lionesses and KCB teammate and the cheating allegations sparked a furious row that led the lovers to proceed to the house of the victim to ‘settle matters’.
On arriving at the house, the aggressor proceeded to confront the accused love rat without reportedly giving her a chance to explain herself according to a source that spoke to eDaily in confidence.
“She went ahead and slapped her, leaving the lady confused since she only knew (the lover). Hell broke loose when (the attacker) took a glass which was on the table and hit the lady on her face,” our informant added.
“Due to the heavy bleeding the lady was taken to hospital where she is expected to be discharged today (Friday). Having reported the issue at the Kasarani Police Station she is expected to record a statement so that she can be issued with a P3 Form,” the source detailed.
When contacted, Kenya Lionesses coach Kelvin Wambua claimed he was ‘unaware’ of the matter saying he will investigate the allegations.
The unsavoury incident comes in the heels of another reported fight among the Kenya Lioness squad when the players beat the seven bells out of each other on their return from the Rio 2016 Olympics in one of the most embarrassing episodes of the crisis-plagued Team Kenya to the Summer Games.
The fisticuffs went down at the Luanda Airport in Angola when the squad was waiting for their connecting flight back to Nairobi after ending their campaign in Rio where the Lionesses and women rugby sevens were making their debut.
While it is a matter that is kept close under wraps, cases of lesbian lovers attacking each other in the Kenya Lionesses and national football side Harambee Starlets are rife.
