A Form Four student at Munyuni Mixed Secondary School in Makueni County on Monday, November 7, gave birth at the Makueni Level 4 Hospital before sitting for her first Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) paper.

Makueni County Director of Education, Anne Kiilu, said the 18-year-old student went into labor in the wee hours of Monday, and was rushed to Makueni Hospital where she safely delivered before sitting a Mathematics paper later that morning.

KCSE exam entered its second day Tuesday, November 8, with 20, 403 students sitting for the national test in Makueni County.

Cases of irregularities, ranging from examination malpractice to leakage, have to a great extent reduced compared to such a time last year, thanks to the tough measures put in place by the Ministry of Education to curb cheating.
