A middle-aged man from Shamberere village in Kakamega stabbed his brother to death after finding him wearing his trousers.
The uncle to the brothers says the two have been fighting over petty issues since he took them in following the passing of their parents.
According to close relatives, drama ensued when the deceased, identified as Edward Shitanda, returned home drunk daring his elder sibling for a fight.
“His elder brother was asking him why he had his pair trouser on when he returned home drunk,” explained an eye witness.
The relative added that shortly after the quarrel, they learned that the younger brother was stabbed.
Malava OCPD, Anne Muria, said she cannot comment on the incident as investigations are still underway.
The body of Shitanda has been taken to Kakamega General Hospital Mortuary for preservation.
Police say the suspect was arrested and is being held at Malava police station.
