Kagwe Mungai drops debut album ‘Spectrum’

Celebrated Kenyan singer-cum-producer Kagwe Mungai on Saturday finally released his debut album ‘Spectrum’ at the Alchemist Bar in Westlands.

The album contains 12 tracks, including an additional three bonus tracks, and features collaborations with various top acts such as trumpeter Owuor Arunga, Naiboi, Mr Seed, The Kansoul, Trina Mungai, Mayonde, Barak Jacuzzi, Valarie Muthoni and Nigeria’s Niniola.

Kagwe’s set – which began a little past 10pm – was backed by a full live band and an accompanying deejay.

He brought in various acts featured in the album during his performance including: gospel singer Mr Seed, Trina Mungai, Mayonde, Kansoul and Kristoff.

At one point, the Taurus Musik-signed artist even brought on stage his mother and sang to her the last track on the album titled ‘Mama I made it.’
