KTN news editor Aaron Ochieng is now in police custody at Industrial Area police station, Makadara Division after he was arrested in connection with the theft of a workmates car in Kisumu.
Joy Doreen Biira, a business journalist KTN, says she parked her car as usual at the Standard Group Head Quarters parking Yard along Mombasa road on Thursday last week in the morning.
At around 8pm, she realized her car keys were missing from her desk, prompting her to check whether her vehicle was still at the parking. It was missing.
She reported the matter to the company’s security, and it was found that the car had left the premises at 7:30pm, with occupants remaining unknown.
The vehicle, Mercedes Benz E220, registration number KBY 831K, was reported missing at Industrial area police station.
Investigations commenced immediately, leading to the recovery of the motor vehicle in Kisumu – now bearing a new registration number, KCH 117L – and the occupant namely Aaron Ochieng an employee of Standard Group.
Ochieng was arrested alongside two guards who were on duty on that night, and they have been remanded at Industrial Area police station, Makadara Division as investigations into the matter continue.
