American singer John Roger Stephens, known professionally as John Legend, has said that he’s “disappointed” by Kanye West’s meeting with United States President-elect Donald J. Trump, says Mirror.
John Legend, who is a close friend of Kanye, thinks it was a “publicity stunt” that the pair pulled.
“I don’t think it’s impossible to talk to (Donald Trump) about issues, but it won’t be used as a publicity stunt. I think Kanye was a publicity stunt” said Legend
“I think Trump has been corrosive, his message has been corrosive to the country. I think the things he has promised to do have been very concerning for a lot of people, and for Kanye to support that message is very disappointing. Whatever’s in his mind, I disagree with him,” added John Legend
However, Kanye West took to his official Twitter page to elaborate the purpose of their meeting: “I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues. These issues included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago. I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change (sic).”
