Citizen TV News Anchor Jeff Koinange has revealed that he had his first girlfriend when he was six years old.
Speaking during his Hot 96 morning radio show with comedian Jalang’o, dubbed Jeff and Jalas, the 52-year old veteran media personality stated that his first flame was a Japanese girl named Yoko Seki whom he met in 1972.
“Her dad worked for JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency),” said Jeff.
“So Yoko and her sister Megumi were very good friends with the Japanese Ambassador’s kids who used to drive in a big black Royce…Yoko and her sister would always join them because I think they lived somewhere close to each other.”
Koinange, who also hosts the popular Jeff Koinange Live on Citizen TV every Wednesdays, went ahead to remember how “Yoko was a sweet little kid, so we struck a talking relationship. And I remember one day she was dying to talk to me and she wrote me a letter…but she wrote it in conjunction with some other girls. And in the letter they put some chocolates…you know, like a chocolate bar…and it was the sweetest thing I’d ever seen.”
The two little lovebirds, according to Koinange, however broke up when he (Koinange) left the school for another.
They however reconnected later on in life when they ran into each other and formed a common WhatsApp group to reunite with their former classmates.
Jeff Koinange is presently married to Sheila, with whom they have a boy.
