Jaguar speaks on his 2019 dream for Starehe, divisions within Jubilee

Starehe Member of Parliament Charles Njagua Kanyi, alias Jaguar, promises to present more employment opportunities to the youth in Starehe in 2019.

Jaguar further says that development agenda is on the top of his mind as Kenyans prepare to usher in the New Year in a few hours time.

Speaking to EDAILY on Monday, December 31, the lawmaker remarked that politics is not anything close to his priorities right now.

“My dream for Starehe constituents in 2019 is more employment opportunities for the young, building of new schools and hospitals, repair of worn out roads and ridding the constituency of filth,” said Jaguar.

“We have come a long way, and the area residents can tell you the work I have been doing on ground. Many are, probably, wondering why I have been quiet. It is because I am working for the people,” said the first-time MP.

The musician-turned-politician said he is disappointed by the apparent divisions manifesting within the ruling Party Jubilee. This comes after the party’s vice chairperson, David Murathe, said recently in a rally in Nyanza region that Deputy President William Ruto is not assured of Mt. Kenya support in the race for president in 2022.

Mr Murathe was, consequently, heavily faulted by DP Ruto’s political allies.

And now Jaguar says that he is least worried about the political turbulence at the top of Kenya’s ruling party.

“My key goal is to help President Uhuru Kenyatta secure his legacy through development and actualization of the Big Four agenda. For now, I would not want to talk about what is happening within Jubilee Party. As young leaders, we can only watch as the fall-outs play,” said Jaguar.
