Jada Pinkett: I won’t divorce Will Smith

In September, 2014, rumours surfaced online that power couple Jada Pinkett and Will Smith were on the verge of getting a divorce. Nearly four years later, the two are still together, with Jada Pinkett saying the word “divorce” does not exist in her vocabulary.

“Here is the thing about Will and I, we are family, that is never going down. It’s just not,” Jada said recently, as quoted by Page Six.

Forty six-year-old Jada says there is a very strong bond connecting her with Will Smith.

“We are family,” Jada said.

“Take out all that whole marriage, relationship crap, at the end of the day, Will and I are family. I am going to hold him down, doesn’t matter. All that relationship and what people think ideas of a husband, partner and all that, man, whatever. At the end of the day, that is a man that can rely on me for the rest of his life, period.”

Jada says she fully trusts her husband to the extent she allows him to go on vacation with his eldest son and his ex-wife, Sheree. Will and Sheree were married from 1992 to 1995.

“I feel as though Trey needs to feel that dynamic between his two parents,” she shared. “That’s very important that he can feel that connection and feel where they do meet. So he can feel that parental connection. I think that’s important.”

Jada said Will, Sheree and Trey recently visited Jordan and Israel together.

Jada Pinkett and Will Smith have been married since 1997 and share two kids, Jaden Smith, 19, and Willow Smith, 17. Will Smith has an older son, Trey, from a previous marriage to Sheree Zampino.

Jada Pinkett and Will Smith started dating, when Will Smith was still married to Sheree Zampino; the two were separated, but not yet divorced at the time.

In May, 2018 Jada Pinkett made Zampino her first guest on her “Red Table Talk” series in a special motherhood-themed episode, where they reflected on the good, the bad and the ugly of co-parenting not just with each other, but with an Oscar winner.

Jada revealed she regretted dating Will Smith while he was still with Zampino.

“Because I did not understand marriage, I did not understand divorce, I probably should have fell back,” Pinkett Smith admitted during their chat, to which Zampino, 50, cracked, “You think?”

Pinkett Smith confessed to being inconsiderate and insensitive to Zampino and Smith during the end of their marriage and to being focused on immediately developing a co-parenting arrangement, even though it was uncomfortable for the estranged couple at the time.

In May, 2018, Will Smith came out to shut rumours that he was getting divorced from Jada.
