‘Iokote’ singer: My success shouldn’t be attributed to witchcraft

Fast-rising Tanzanian musician Maua Sama, who is currently riding high with the hit song “Iokote”, has dismissed allegations that she engaged in witchcraft to get a break-through in the highly-competitive music industry.

Speaking to Showbiz Xtra on Wednesday, Maua said the current success she is enjoying is as a result of God’s liking.

“Another person would easily say I am successful because of witchcraft. No, that is not true. I have always worked hard, and I would say God’s timing is manifesting itself on the break-through I am having in the music industry today. God’s approval [of what I am doing], is the most important thing,” said Maua Sama.
