Facebook Inc’s Instagram app was down on Wednesday for some users across several cities, including Nairobi, London, San Francisco and Singapore.
Users of the photo and video-sharing app were, on Wednesday morning, unable to see people’s pictures, videos, number of followers or the profiles that one follows.
Users were instead greeted with empty profiles and a message that the site “cannot refresh feed’.
The web version of the app also had problems, with a “5xx Server Error” being the feedback a user received when he or she attempted to login to the app.
Areas largely affected include parts of Africa, Northern Europe, Australia and the West Coast of the US.
Reuters says Facebook and Instagram were not immediately available to comment.
