Fagilia hit-maker Mr Nice has once more rubbished claims that he’s suffering from HIV/AIDS, reports Bongo 5.
The Tanzanian singer, who reigned the airwaves in the early 2000’s with his bongo fleva tunes, was rumoured to have been suffering from the disease when photos of him in hospital surfaced on Tanzanian tabloids.
The former chart-topper, who has been struggling to make a comeback in recent times, has tackled the HIV/AIDS allegations head-on.
“Look at me; do I look like I’m sick? I am not suffering from HIV/AIDS, but it’s true that I was hospitalised from October for three months,” Mr Nice said.
Explaining the circumstances surrounding his hospitalization, Mr Nice said that he was maliciously poisoned by an unknown individual.
“I was poisoned during the campaigns, but we could not find out who did it. All we know is that the poisoning was politically motivated; that said, I have left it to God,” he said.
Mr Nice has been short of luck in recent years.
In 2013, he relocated to Kenya with an aim of reclaiming his position in the competitive East African Market, but just three months after he joined Grandpa Records, he was shown the door.
Stable owner Refigah faulted Mr Nice for being lazy and difficult to work with, adding that the singer had been dishonest about a pre-existing contract with a Tanzanian record label.
Hit latest track, Kioo, has garnered a paltry 37,000 views on YouTube, seven months after it was released.
