Mombasa-based rapper Ralph Sanda Masai, better known by his stage name Cannibal, has said that he is temporarily quitting music to kick off his political career.
Last week, the Street Hustler hitmaker announced his candidature for Mombasa’s Mtopanga ward on an ODM ticket.
He told Citizen Digital that if he gets elected, he will push for the empowerment of the youth in the ward.
“For a long time, the youth have been poorly represented by the MCAs in my ward. Some leaders are even corrupt. If elected, I’ll make sure they benefit from my leadership. They have urged me to vie. I will fully represent their welfare. I am from a humble background, so I understand their issues best. Only the youth can liberate the youth,” said Cannibal.
The Hip Hop star says because of his political interest, he will put music on the back burner so that he can concentrate on campaigning.
“I will temporarily quit music as I embark on campaigns; though music runs in my blood. I will officially start campaigning later this month (February),” he said.
In January, the rapper released his latest hit Kidaluso that he features Tanzania’s Juma Nature.
