Standard Group Digital Editor David Ohito has said Jeff Koinange is not part of the media house’s staff following concerns raised over a controversial interview held on Jeff Koinange Live last Wednesday that pitted Miguna Miguna against Esther Passaris.
Speaking on NTV’s Press Pass on Monday, November 21, Mr Ohito said that Jeff had been contracted by KTN and Standard Group is not liable for any of his actions.
“I want to clarify again that Jeff Koinange is not in the ranked file of the staff of the Standard Group. But the management has taken a decision which it will be following administratively,” Mr Ohito said.
Mr Ohito said that the Standard Group had issued an apology to the concerned parties and had brought down the content on their online platforms.
Jeff hosted Miguna and Passaris on Wednesday, November 16, to discuss matters politics, but the episode ended up being a crude affair with both aspirants trading undercover insults.
However, matters took a nose dive when the controversial lawyer was heard making a sexually offensive remark directed toward Passaris – an action that infuriated Kenyans leading to a backlash from the Kenyans on social media.
