Zimbabwean gospel musician Pastor Richard Nhika ended his life early this week, shockingly capturing the act on video.
Zimbabwe Mail says: “The singer had a quarrel with his girlfriend moments before swallowing a poisonous substance, said to be cotton pesticide, in a bush near Good Hope area in the capital Harare.”
Nhika was rushed to a Harare hospital but was pronounced dead a day later.
In the video, which Nhika recorded before swallowing the poisonous substance, he was heard saying: “I will always love you No-matter, which is why when I saw you I never insulted you or said anything bad. I have decided to die next to this tree so that everyone can see that this is real poison! You can even see it for yourself.
“I will always love you No-matter and thank you for taking away my life,” he said whilst drinking the pesticide.
Nhika was a pastor at Apostolic Faith Mission Church and was in the final stages of launching his music album.
The girlfriend, No-matter, attended the same church with the deceased.
