Businessman and philanthropist Gor Semelang’o has been appointed to the Board of Advisors of the Commonwealth Security Group as a Senior Advisor.
In a letter of invitation sent to Mr Semelang’o, and seen by EDAILY, the Commonwealth Security Group says it has tapped Gor’s experience as a “businessman, philanthropist and foundation leader in Kenya and across East Africa”.
The Group says it aims to bring together “experts and leaders from across the Commonwealth, who have a proven record of excellence from political, military, business, charitable and academic backgrounds”.
As a Board of Advisors, Mr Semelang’o would attend and participate in Commonwealth Security Group events as VIP, contribute to the themes and direction of the organization from planning through to presentation, be a key voice on trans-national security matters; leading security matters across the Commonwealth and he would also be at the forefront of developing partnerships in security cooperation.
Mr Gor’s letter of invitation was signed by the Security Group’s chief Freddie Woolland.
EDAILY reached Mr Semelang’o for comment.
“This is our year, and I am grateful for the lucrative opportunity,” he said.
