Going Bongo Co—producer and Film star, Ernest Napoleon, has asserted that Miss Tanzania 2006 Wema Sepetu and actress Elizabeth ‘Lulu’ Michael can succeed in Hollywood.
Napoleon compared Lulu to Lindsay Lohan who started acting from a very young age, adding that Sepetu has the qualities of an actor who can succeed in entertainment capital of the world.
“Wema Sepetu is already very talented. She already has the qualities: she is charismatic, just like the President of the United States, Barrack Obama. When she speaks people actually listen to her,” Napoleon intimated.
He added: “With that and her ability to act, if she is given the right role, in the right film, she will thrive.”
The film star acted as Dr Lewis Burger in Going Bongo, a comedy drama film, directed by Dean Matthew Ronalds. The movie was shot in Tanzania and Los Angeles, California and it was initially released in the United Kingdom on June 4th 2015.
The movie, based on a true story of a French Doctor who left Europe to work in Africa, tells the tale of a newly recruited American doctor “mistakenly” volunteers to work in Africa for a month.
The film features other actors including Emanuela Galliussi, Nyokabi Gethaiga and Ashley Olds.
Speaking to Bongo 5, Napoleon said that Tanzania has very many good actors.
“When people watch Bongo movies, what do they think? Are they bad or what? The problem is not the acting; the problem is how the production is done. The issue is within the production of the film, perhaps if the film is done hurriedly,” he added.
Sepetu is a celebrated actress in Tanzania, and she has featured in more than 10 productions.
Lulu Michael, on the other hand, is an award-winning actress who has featured in several Tanzania Bongo movies as well. Some of the films include: Family Curse, Foolish Age, Dangerous Girl, Oxygen and Woman of principles.
Despite his film being a runaway success, it seems Napoleon has just scratched the surface.
“At the moment, apart from writing a couple of scripts, I am adapting a very good book about a revolutionary struggle of an African country,” Napoleon told Just Celebrity Magazine in a recent interview.
“I am doing that in collaboration with some very solid producers. We hope to shoot it next year.” He added.
“I am also playing a lead in a new film that I will be shooting in London/Paris in July directed by Antony Szeto (Jackie Chan presents Wushu), about young people from Africa who have to travel to Europe to achieve their dreams,” stated the budding filmmaker.
The film is called “From Freetown” and fans can expect to see it early 2016.
