Baringo Senator Gideon Moi’s wife has been appointed to the Tourism Research Institute board, a position previously held by Dr Margaret Wawuda Mwakima.
In a Kenya Gazette notice published on Friday, June 17, Tourism cabinet secretary Najib Balala stated that Zahra Moi’s “appointment was with effect from May 31 and revoked the appointment of Margaret Wawuda Mwakima (Dr).”
Mrs Moi, a brilliant International Business Administrator, is a graduate of the United States International University (USIU).
She was awarded with a Magna Cum Laude degree in Bachelor of Science in International Business by the USIU in August 2015.
Magna Cum Laude is awarded to students with a grade point average (GPA) of above 3.7 out of 4.0.
In the British systems, a GPA of 3.68 out of 4.0 is equivalent to a First Class Honors (which in most Kenyan universities is awarded to students who have a cumulative average of more than 70 points out of the possible 100).
Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Ole Lenku also landed a three-year parastatal job as per the Kenya Gazette notice published on Friday.
Lenku has been appointed a member and the Non-Executive Chairperson of the SACCO Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA).
Former cabinet minister Noah Katana Ngala has been appointed a member of the Kenya National Library Services Board.
Another former minister, Gideon Ndambuki, has been appointed a Trustee of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Board of Trustees.
